Christmas is not always
a time of joy and happiness. Because of endless trials and circumstances beyond
our control, darkness comes at us whether the calendar shows December or not.
When darkness comes into your life, as difficult as it may be for you, give
others the gift of a compassionate heart. Give others the gift of compassion no
matter the season. To know another human being understands and cares about them
enables others to accept God because they know He cares about them. In times of
trouble, each of us needs the presence of others and the presence of God in our
life. Although you may not fully understand, showing His compassion means you
are Christ’s representative to an unbelieving world. Christ came to us as a
physical person. Your compassion toward others on His behalf makes you a
physical reminder there really are people in the world who care.
