At Christmastime, our life is not supposed to have sadness,
pain, loneliness, sinfulness, or painful memories. However, we do not live in la
la land. We live here on earth where darkness in our life is an ever-present
reality. Even for persons who have not faced the darkness of sadness, pain,
loneliness, sinfulness, or painful memories, at some point in the future we are
all going to face these kinds of issues. Christ came into the world because of
these very difficult and painful issues with which many of us must live. Christ
was born so in His name and in His love, you will stand firm knowing His light
is always burning within you. In Christ, even at the time and place of His
birth, in Him you find the power. In Him you find the light. In Him you find the
life. In Him you find redeeming love and hope lasting until the beginning of the
new age about to dawn. Indeed, your life is filled with light, His light. As you come to let yourself be filled with His light, His
light will drive out your sadness, drive out your pain, drive out your
loneliness, drive out your sinfulness, drive out your painful memories, and give
you a future in Heaven brighter than noonday.
