God's holy name for in your calamities He has rescued you. In your
trials He has come to smooth your troubles over so you count them only as waters
gone by. In your
day of trouble He has kept you safe in His dwelling. The Lord
hid you in the shelter of His arms and He set you high upon a rock. In your
weeping of the nighttime Christ brought joy in the morning. In your
downcast soul Christ put His hope within you so you would praise Him as your
Savior and Lord. In your
trials Christ gave you His compassion as a father has compassion upon His
children. In your
suffering Christ brought His comfort. His
promises preserved your life. In the
midst of your trouble Christ preserved your life. Christ
stretched out His hand against the anger of your foes. With
God's right hand Christ saved you. In your
old age, when your hair turns gray, Christ sustains you. Christ
made you and Christ will carry you. Christ
pours over you the oil of gladness in the time of your mourning. Christ
wraps around you a garment of praise in your spirit of despair. In you
and in your grief, Christ will plant you as an oak of righteousness, a planting
of God's very own for the display of His splendor. Praise
