Words Of Faith Words Of Faith To Push Back Against Wanting To Get Even When
you have been hurt by another person you may want to get even. When
you are damaged and broken by another person, you may want to undo the damage
and fix the brokenness by getting even with the person who hurt you. However,
in Christ's will and in His grace, you know you should never want to get even or
seek revenge. In
Christ's love and in His grace, beseech Him to help you get rid of your desire
to get even. Affirm
before Christ this very hour how you know the idea of getting even is a false
idea put into your mind by Satan. Know
there is no true way of evening up the score by hurting another person. Know
there is no true way of getting even because hurting someone else does not take
your own hurt away. Know
hurting someone else will not fix your brokenness. Know
hurting someone else will not undo a wrong committed against you. There
is a way to erase the wrong, heal your hurt, repair your damage, and fix your
brokenness. According
to Christ's will, you are to forgive rather than seek revenge. Christ
will help you push back against wanting to get even as He pushes back with you
and helps you be forgiving. Pray
for Christ's touch of love so you can forgive. Pray
for Christ's presence so you can let go of the hurt. Pray
for Christ's acceptance so you can regain your wholeness and your humanity. Pray
for Christ's touch so you have His power to always do, say, and think only what
is right in His eyes. Above
all else, push with Christ against the temptation seeking to take you away from
