A Prayer For Inspiration To Help Others

Precious Father,
Precious Lord Jesus,
Wonderful Holy Spirit,
Most awesome God.
To you, the most high spirit who touches every heartI bow down before you.
I come to you, O Lord, in a spirit of humble remorse.
I am grieved at what I see in my mirror.
For when I look in the mirror and see my image, I see a person who has not done enough of your good work.
I have sat too long in padded pews and sought the comfort of your sanctuary instead of working in the world to bring your love to others.
I have gloried in your house but never thought to bring your glory to those who are sick, poor, lame, and cannot find their way in life.
I am guilty, Lord.
Please forgive me.
Inspire me to do more.
Inspire me to see the great needs at my doorstep, and to open my heart and life to those who are poor, lost, and broken.
No matter what the cost might be to my comfort, let me reach out.
No matter what the cost might be to my pocketbook, show me how I can help.
No matter what risk I must take to do your will and your work, give me the courage to risk what I have for your glory.
In the name of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit who lives within me and touches me, Amen.
