A Prayer To Let Burdens Go
Most Precious Lord Jesus
Gentle And Wonderful God
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit
I have a past littered with selfishness.
I have a past littered with embarrassments
with hurts
with slights
with remarks made against me
with unfairness
with times when I was ashamed of who I was and what I was
with times when I was ashamed of my poverty
with times when I was ashamed of my appearance.
Help me let all this go.
Help me see none of these things matter to you.
Help me see with you all that matters is that I let this garbage go once
and for all.
For the times when I was embarrassed, help me see those times were of
absolutely no value to you at the time and are of even less value to you
now except to soften me and make me more of your child.
For the times when I was emotionally hurt, help me see you have already
sealed off those times and you have pushed me into this day, this day that
is now the future of that time in the past when I was hurt.
Show me how I have survived, show me how I have prospered, show me how you
have been with me and given me a new start, a new beginning, and in your
eyes my past is like it never was.
For the times of I was slighted by others, help me see their opinions
count for nothing in your eyes.
For the times remarks were made against me, help me see you were there all
the time and I had your shield of protection but did not use it.
Show me the same shield of protection I have always had I still have and
your shield will be in place the rest of my life, shielding me from the
hurts of the past, the present, and the future.
For the times when I was unfairly treated, place your hand upon my memory
and give me a new view of those times.
Help me see how every dark moment can now be used for your glory.
For the times of I was ashamed of who I was and how I was, help me see all
that shame is now over and in your love I have no reason to be ashamed for
I am new in you.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
Amen
