A Prayer About Living An Unselfish Life

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I am a selfish person.
When pain comes my way, I hurt and I cannot forget the pain because the pain grips me and makes me selfish.
When the pain grips me, the pain turns me away from you and I am turned inward upon myself.
Even when I am not in pain, I like to do things on my own.
I take pride in my accomplishments.
I even like taking pride in my accomplishments.
Shame on me, Lord Jesus.
Double shame on me, for taking pride in what I do rather than living in humility before you.
The truth is I am incredibly weak.
I do not have your power.
I do not have your vision of all that exists.
I have no power except the power you give me.
All I have comes from you.
Every breath I take is taken because you have given me that breath.
Thank you, Lord.
Thank you for giving me all I am and all I have.
May I remain in a spirit of thanksgiving so all my selfishness melts away.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
