A Prayer About Being More Humble Before
God
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I want my way.
I want what I want the way I want it.
Too often when I pray, I pray to get you to give me what I want.
My high-sounding phrases, my "Amens", my "Praise
Gods", too often are not what I am really feeling.
Too often I come to you, O Lord, hoping you will deliver for me what I
want rather than what you want for me.
I am sorry.
I am so sorry about trying to push what I want onto you and praying you
deliver to me what I want.
Please forgive me.
Forgive me for being selfish and thinking only of myself.
Forgive me for being so ego-filled and not thinking about you instead of
thinking about what you want for me and from me.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely. Amen
