A Prayer For A Pure Heart
Precious Lord Jesus, Wonderful Holy Spirit, Awesome God, give me a pure
heart. Cleanse me of all the dark thoughts I might think. Banish the anger
and resentment I might have stored up within me. In your majestic love,
touch me so that where there is darkness within me there will be your
Light and Love. Take away all the lust of my heart for things that are not
of God. Instill in me a hunger to be humble in your sight. Place your
spirit within me and push out all that is worldly and selfish. When my
heart is tempted by desires that destroy my spirit and love for you, turn
my heart away from the temptation and speak to me in your mighty and
loving voice. When I start to fall, reach down and pick me up. When I
start to come apart because of an unclean heart, make me whole by
cleansing my heart of dark things. All these things I humbly pray in the
name of the most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, the Mighty God, and the
Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom we can rely. Amen
