A Prayer For Rest
O God of Peace, O Holy Spirit, O Wonderful Jesus, Reach deep within our
soul and touch all the places of worry, doubt, and frustration. Where
there is upset, bring your healing hand and healing power to smooth over
this upset. In you, we know we can trust. In you, O Lord, we know that no
matter how difficult this time may be, that we can find rest. In you, who
is above all, we find a peace and love that passes all understanding and
is mysterious yet is so very real. In the troubles and trials of this very
hour, we find you standing beside us giving us words of encouragement and
love everlasting. At the foot of your Cross, our troubles melt away in our
redeeming sorrow. At the foot of your Cross, your cleansing blood takes
away our sin and takes away all thoughts of ourselves. In this time of
upset, we find a new heart and a new soul because of you. In the name of
God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit who is within
and around us. Amen
