A Prayer During A Time Of Sickness

O Lord Jesus, you who shall come again on the clouds, I am sick today.
Lord, I feel really lousy in my body.
I do not feel like praying either.
Although I am having trouble even speaking to you, help me to be brave today.
Help me do all the necessary things I should do to be well again.
Let me not slip into deep distress or depression for I know my attitude can help bring wellness again.
When I hurt, bring your love to temper the pain.
When I fear the next moment, bring your encouragement showing me I can conquer the remaining moments of this hour.
Show me your own suffering on the Cross.
Show me your suffering so I will not sink into self-pity and selfishness.
Show me your own suffering on the Cross, for your suffering was so much greater than any suffering I must bear.
When waves of pain come upon me again, help me ride these waves and please hold my hand.
I am your child, and in you, O Lord Jesus, I find relief from such a difficult time as this.
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
