A Prayer About Staying Faithful During
Times Of Plenty
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God,
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
What a blessing you are to me.
What great blessings you have poured over me.
Thank you Lord.
Thank you for giving me such great treasures and such plenty.
As I am surrounded by all you have given me, there are times when I take
all of your blessings for granted.
There are times when I begin to think I have the power instead of your
having the power.
There are times when I begin to think I can make anything happen instead
of your making anything happen.
With all of the earthly treasures you have given me there are even times
when I begin to think I can replace you with all these earthly treasures.
Sometimes I even think I don't really need you any more.
But I know better.
The truth is all the bounty and all the plenty of my life can sometimes
come into my heart and mind and begin to possess me.
The truth is my wealth sometimes has a way of making me smug, arrogant,
and insolent.
The truth is, because of my wealth, sometimes I think I am better, higher,
and more important than someone who is poor.
Forgive me Lord.
Forgive me for letting what is only temporary in my life get in the way of
your permanent love, your permanent compassion, and your everlasting
forgiveness for all my weaknesses, failures, and mistakes.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
