A Prayer About Stopping Temptation

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
The war rages about me every day.
I can see and feel the forces of evil come at me as these forces try to infect my heart with darkness.
In your name and by your power, I come against these forces of evil.
May I ever be so humble I am always kneeling at the foot of your cross in this most deadly war for my soul.
As I move through each day, help me to make decisions and take actions that glorify your name.
As I kneel at the foot of your cross, help me totally defeat and totally annihilate the personal darkness and personal temptation in my life.
Help me to recognize temptation is a weapon Satan will use to try and destroy me and destroy the people I love.
Help me to marshal all the forces of my soul to call upon you when I face temptation.
Help me to marshal all the forces of my soul to resist Satan so he will flee from me.
In this way, help me see the terrible effects of caving in to temptation.
In this way, help me see how terrible my life can be when I do not lead a holy and righteous life.
When I am tempted, help me to think more of others than of myself.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
