A Prayer To See Christ Suffering Upon The Cross

Precious Lord, Wonderful Savior, Gracious Heavenly Father,
I cannot bear to look at you upon the Cross.
I cannot bear to even see an image of your suffering for me.
I cannot fathom the pain you suffered.
I cannot fathom it was all for me.
Even when I cannot bear the thought of your suffering for me, do not let me think of other things.
Even when my heart breaks and my eyes fill with tears at the mention of your death for me, keep your hand upon me, and do not let me ever forget.
When my own pain and suffering take me down, touch me and remind me I suffer nothing compared to you.
When my own pain and suffering besiege me, touch me and let me know my suffering should always be for you and your kingdom.
When I feel slighted because I must suffer and endure, show me I must suffer for you.
When I complain, show me again your cross and your sacrifice for me.
Never let me leave you alone in your hour of suffering.
Never let me leave the foot of your cross.
Never let me think I am alone for when you were on the Cross you were more alone than I could ever know.
I love you, O Lord.
I adore you, Precious One.
All these things I humbly pray.
