Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I love your Holy Word.
Of all your words I love, your Psalm 23 touches me the deepest.
I always want you to be my shepherd.
Even when I want to run things my own way instead of your way…
I know if I stop and think for just a moment, then your way is always the best way.
When I pray and we are talking together, I can feel your love enfold me like the precious lambs of your flock feel your love keeping them in the fold.
When I stumble and fall, you come and rescue me.
When I get caught in a dangerous place and I cannot get out on my own, you take the crook of your staff and pull me out.
I like green things, like green pastures.
My view of Heaven from my lowly state here on earth is a lot like what you describe as green pastures and quiet waters.
When I listen with open heart and righteous intent, I can hear your voice.
I can hear your voice calling me to only do and think what is right.
My spirit gets worn out during the day.
However, I am restored and made like new when I hear your sweet voice.
I can always face tomorrow because you make me new in the evening time today.
No matter what kind of darkness I must face, I know you will be with me.
With you as my shepherd, I have no reason whatsoever to fear evil of any kind.
I fear no evil because you are with me and I know you will protect me just as a good shepherd protects his sheep.
I am comforted every hour because I know all the dangers of the world are nothing compared to your protection.
I fear no evil because no evil on earth could ever touch you.
In all the tough times of my life, you have been a constant resource and companion.
In all the tough times of my life, you have been with me and I know you will be with me forever.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
