Prayer To Receive A New Heart In Defeat,
Disappointment, And Loss
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
I love you, Lord Jesus.
Thank you for loving me.
Thank you for giving me a new life, a new vision, and a new hope.
Thank you for giving me new ways to deal with old problems, old hurts, and
old troubles.
I come to you, O Lord, this day of days when I am in defeat, I am full of
disappointment, and I have lost.
I am grieved, Lord.
I know I should feel differently but today was a very bad day and what I
had hoped for has been taken from me by forces I cannot control.
What do I do now, Lord?
What do I do now?
As it is your will, take my heart and shape it for your good in this
trouble.
As it is your will, take my hurt and turn it into a gem for your righteous
way of living.
As it is your will, take my defeat and show me the real victory in life is
not about my human effort or my human objective, but the real victory in
my life is when I accept you and accept your will for my life.
As it is your will, take my disappointment and show me how real hope and
inspiration in life does not come from worldly things or worldly ideas,
but only from your heart.
As it is your will, take my loss and show me the losses I have on earth
will all be covered over and made as if they never were when I see you
face to face in Heaven.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely. Amen |
