A Prayer To Stand In The Shadow Of The
Cross During Tragedies, Disasters, And Chaos
Most Precious Lord Jesus…
Gentle And Wonderful God…
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit…
How can I fulfill your mission for my life when my life has been
devastated in this catastrophe?
Make my mission more fully known to me so I can see the purpose of my
mission in this chaos of pain and suffering.
Make me more fully yours in this terrible darkness.
Make me more fully yours in this time of tribulation, the tribulation I
see at every turn.
Make me a witness to those who do not know you so in some way they can
fulfill the mission you have given them.
Make me a witness to those who hurt others so they will help others.
In this time of devastation, remind me I am a sinner just as all of us are
sinners.
In my grievous pain, help me kneel at the foot of your cross.
Let your mission for me not be clouded over or forgotten because of the
present tribulations which I must see.
May you always be alive in my heart, even in this present tribulation.
May I always remain next to you.
May the shadow of your cross always be covering me so I do not forget why
I am here, what I am supposed to do, and who I am supposed to be.
As I strive to just survive one minute to the next, help me be driven to
survive for you and for others rather then trying to survive just for
myself.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
