A Prayer About Treasures Above Most
Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I know I have not reached heaven's shores.
I know I have many miles to walk on this path before I rest.
Yet I know I have before me an inheritance you have given me.
I know where I am is not my resting place and I know my life was defiled
and ruined beyond remedy.
Yet there remains for me a Sabbath rest for I am one of your people.
My hope in you is the anchor of my soul.
My hope in you is firm and secure.
My hope enters into the inner sanctuary behind the curtain where you went
before me and entered on my behalf.
In my promised land yet to come, in your house built with so much love, is
a house of many rooms.
If it were not so I know you would have told me.
So long ago, in two millenniums past, you went to prepare a place for me.
And since you went to prepare a place for me, I know you will come back
and take me home to be with you so we may be together for eternity.
I long to be free of my earthly trials.
I desire to depart and see the treasure of your face but I know I have a
great and grand mission to fulfill in my life.
In my promised land made especially for me, you will wipe away every tear
from my eyes.
There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.
The old order of things will have passed away.
The weary will find sweet rest.
So now I shall set my mind of things above, not upon earthly things.
In the days I have left I shall praise you and work for you.
I will store up treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy,
where thieves do not break in and steal.
I will store up treasures in heaven, for where my treasure is, there my
heart will be also.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
Amen
