A Prayer To Turn Away From The Grip Of
Difficulty
Most Precious Lord Jesus…
Gentle And Wonderful God…
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit…
I tell you, Lord, I do not think I will ever be out of the grip of this
monstrous difficulty.
This monstrous difficulty seems to have me and it will not let me go.
I want to turn away from the difficulty but I cannot.
I want to be free of the difficulty but I cannot.
Do you hear the breaking of my heart?
Do you hear the breaking of my soul?
In your love and grace, please help me be free of this monster.
In your love and grace, please help me kneel down here at the foot of your
cross.
In your love and grace, in my total brokenness, please touch my heart,
touch my mind, and touch my soul so all the difficulties I have can be
placed here at the foot of your cross.
In your love and grace, through my tear-filled eyes, help me look up at
you dying on the cross for me.
What difficulties do I have compared to you dying for me?
What grip of difficulties do I have compared to your dying for me?
Oh, Precious Jesus, my heart breaks anew now that I see you hanging there
for me.
My heart is torn out of me seeing your sacrifice for me.
Never let me ever think I have difficulties again.
Never let me even begin to think I difficulties again.
Keep me ever mindful of your suffering all of my days.
Keep me ever mindful of your suffering whenever I think I have pain,
problems, or trials.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
