A Prayer To Turn The Land Into God's Treasure
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
You have done great and amazing things for the land of my birth.
You have blessed her in uncountable ways.
You have poured your blessings over the land in ways we did not know and
in ways we did not see.
The bounty of our crops and the numbers of our flocks are a testimony to
your great care for us.
To you we give thanks.
To you we give glory and honor.
Although the bounty you have bestowed upon us overflows in our
storehouses, our land is besieged by enemies within and without.
Our nation suffers from immorality as people do abhorrent things before
you.
In the shadow of your bounty, we have turned away from doing your will to
doing our own will.
Lord, we have gone astray.
We are not a holy nation before you.
Please pour out your grace upon us rather than pouring out your wrath.
Turn every heart to seek your ways.
Turn every heart to seek your truth.
Turn every heart to seek your will.
Make all of the inhabitants of my land a holy people before your eyes.
Make all of the citizens of this great nation declare you have carried
them on eagle's wings and you have brought them to yourself.
In whatever way you can, make us obedient to your holy laws.
Make us keep your covenants.
Make all of us be holy so we can be called your treasured possession.
Make all of us be holy so we can be a kingdom of priests before you.
Give us the moral courage and the conviction to break down the altars we
have built to sinful desires.
Give us the guilt of wrongdoing so we smash corruption inside of ourselves
and outside of ourselves.
Give us the wisdom to see how far we have gone astray so we can burn the
idols of our lust, greed, and avarice.
May all of us be redeemed by the blood of our Lord Jesus so we can be
called a people holy to God the Father.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
Amen.
