A Prayer To Understand God

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
I love you, Lord Jesus.
O Lord, I understand only a few things about you.
I understand you are in Heaven and I am here on the earth.
I understand the kingdom of Heaven is somehow within me but this understanding is still a mystery in my mind.
I understand you are love, and although I understand what you are, I cannot always touch you.
I understand you love me but I cannot always sense that love.
I understand you want me to give my life to you so you can give me a new life in exchange for the old life I surrender.
When I say "I understand" I say "I understand" only in part, for each time I come to understand more about you there is more for me to understand.
I understand more today than I did yesterday, but I understand less of the overall than I did yesterday.
I understand you are always within me and you are always speaking to me.
I understand you are simple to touch and to love.
I understand you love.
I understand you want me to love you back.
Thank you Lord.
Thank you for understanding me more than I understand myself.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen.
