A Prayer For Upward Expectations
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God,
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
I love you, Lord Jesus.
When I expect the worst, give me a heart full of trust in you so I expect
your best.
When I look around me and see devastation, give me a mind to expect great
achievements in your name.
When I hear the cry of persons full of hatred and venom who want to kill,
maim, and destroy, give me a heart to expect the highest calling of your
good and merciful will.
When I see no way to solve problems and I expect so little, give me a
heart to expect the most out of myself, expect the most out of you, and
expect the most out of others.
When sin and darkness run rampant over the earth and it seems my days are
numbered, give me a heart to expect the glory in seeing you face to face.
When it seems hatred has infected the hearts of the world, give me a heart
to expect the love of your tender guidance.
When it seems the hearts and minds of the world are focused only on war,
give me a heart to expect the peace of your presence.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
