A Prayer For Times When You Need Others
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God,
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
I love you, Lord Jesus.
Some days, when I am by myself and I am alone, I am lonely.
Other days, when I am surrounded by other people, I am still lonely.
Of all the problems I have in life, this loneliness thing may be the
biggest problem of all.
As I piece together the hours and days of my life, I keep thinking I will
get over the loneliness, or learn to deal with it, or somehow make the
loneliness go away.
There have been times when I seemed to own the world but I was still
lonely.
When I have been the loneliest, I have been the most tempted to turn away
from you.
When I have felt isolated and alone, it seems like Satan was screaming at
me to commit sins I would never want to commit.
So, according to your will and according to your love…help me know you
as more of a friend on earth than a distant someone up in the sky
listening over a loudspeaker.
I know you are my friend.
I know you are my best friend and you are always with me.
I also know when you seem far away it is not you who have moved away from
me…I know I have moved away from you.
Bring me close to you now, Precious Lord Jesus.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
