A Daily Devotional About a sign from God: John 12:17 Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word. 18Many people, because they had heard that he had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet him. 19So the Pharisees said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!" (NIV) What would the world do with a sign from God? Today there could be such a sign. There could be an unmistakable sign so wondrous no one in the world could doubt there was a sign from God. However, would the whole world believe the sign is from God? Do you need a sign to tell you there is a God? You may need a sign, but your walk of faith should be so strong you should not require a sign. Christ gives each of us a wondrous sign every day. Christ writes His sign of love on our heart if we would just open up to Him. We do not need signs and wonders to tell us how much love God has for us. There was a sign upon the earth a long time ago. The sign was a man, a man fully human yet also our God. When the powers of the world saw this man, they saw a threat. This man was crucified for each of us. Now the instrument of His death is for us a sign, but do we see it? |
