A Daily Devotional About an offering of praise: Hebrews 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore,
let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that
confess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for
with such sacrifices God is pleased. (NIV) Every minute we have a
choice about whether we want to please God or please ourselves. If we look at
the world and see only the destruction and devastation the evil one has brought,
we blind ourselves to the total truth. If all we see is the work of the evil
one, we will not be able to see Christ or His handiwork. When we choose to see
God in spite of what the Satan does in the world, we are able to praise God in
every circumstance. This does not mean we are to say we see God in every
circumstance when we do not really see Him. Our world is full of danger, toils,
and troubles, yet God exists and works in spite of the darkness of the world. We
can praise God for His being willing to work in spite of the darkness. In spite
of our failings, God still loves us and is with us. We can praise God for His
faithfulness in spite of our failings. When turmoil in life strikes us and
upsets our life, Christ brings us incredible peace. In His incredible peace we
can praise Him. Seeing God in every circumstance is not a matter of being a
supreme optimist. Seeing God in every circumstance is a matter of seeing the
truth. |
