A Christmas Devotional About Christ's gift of comfort: 2 Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, (NIV) For many people, perhaps too many, Christmastime is not full of joy. For many people, Christmastime, is a time when pain and suffering become more intense than ever. However, when Christ was born He brought into the world His great comfort. With Christ's gift of comfort, even when you are in pain, you can feel His comfort in your heart. In all your activities, you can feel His comfort of knowing He loves you. When you observe Christmas this year, you can feel the joy of Christ's presence all around you because He gave you His gift of comfort. When you are blinded by pain, the gift of Christ's comfort gives you the ability to see again. When your pain and suffering takes away your freedom, Christ's comfort gives you the freedom to live and breathe as God intended for you to do. Pain can make you think all is lost, but with Christ's gift of comfort, you find all is not lost because Christ has found you and remains with you no matter how much you hurt. |
