A Christmas Devotional About Christ's gift of trust in God: John 14:1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. (NIV) The Magi brought gifts to Christ, but Christ is the great giver of gifts. When your faith begins to weaken, when you think there is no use to keep on believing, Christ gives you the gift of trusting in Him. Trusting in God is not a matter of going through certain motions or certain activities. Being able to trust in God is a gift given to you by our Lord. When you begin to question why things are as they are, Christ gives you answers or He gives you the patience to wait for an answer. When bad things happen in your life, perhaps making you doubt God loves you, open your heart and Christ will give you more reasons to trust Him than to doubt Him. When trauma and tragedy tear you apart, open your heart and Christ will you give you ways to trust Him in the hours of your darkness. When you have lost everything you hold dear, Christ gives you the gift of holding you in the palm of His hand. When your suffering begins to eat away at you, Christ gives you the gift of showing you how much He suffered for you. During the Christmas season, in all the activity the season brings, there is no activity more important than receiving Christ's gift of trusting Him more. |
