A Daily Devotional About God being bigger than
you… Psalm 147: 2 The LORD
builds up God is bigger than you. When you need a resource, when you need a power, when you need an overwhelming presence in your life…God is the resource, power, and overwhelming presence you need. Some people might find a bigger being, like God, to be intimidating. Some people might find a bigger being, especially a moral being, a being who wants only righteousness, to be morally intimidating. However, the bigness of God can be empowering when we let go of our selfish smallness. Our selfish smallness keeps us from seeing the big picture. Our selfish smallness keeps us from seeing our bigger God. In our selfish smallness, we all want power. However, to get power by being humble and small in the eyes of God is not what most people want. Most people want the power of God but only on their own terms. The power of God is bigger than your selfish power. The power of God's love is bigger than any love you can feel, bigger than any love you can give away, and bigger than any love you can experience. To have the love power of God you must give up selfish smallness. When you give up selfish smallness, you receive God's unselfish infinite love in return. |
