A Daily Devotional About God’s purpose (1)… Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. (NIV) This verse requires an exercise of our faith. To believe this verse requires we see over the horizon of our present world. This verse requires we see two things: (1) what the world will become when Christ returns, and (2) His heavenly home from where we are in the here and now. If we look at the darkness of our world, as our world is today, we do not see a lot of the Lord’s purpose prevailing. When we look at the world or look at our own life we must see the "big picture." When we look at what will transpire in the world as God’s purpose and plan unfolds, we will see how God’s purpose does prevail. Even in the small details of life, the most enduring and lasting plans are the plans set in motion by God. Man can plan and then create a monument, a work of art, a building, or any kind of "thing." However, no creation of man can match the beauty and grandeur we find in His life creations. |
