A Daily Devotional About a perfect relationship… 1 John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. (NIV) A perfect relationship between two people requires two perfect people who have perfect hearts and perfect souls. Of course, there is no perfect relationship. Even our relationship with God is imperfect. However, perfection becomes more likely when each person in a relationship gives and surrenders in strength. The more we give and surrender in strength the closer we come to perfection. Giving and surrendering in weakness is easy for there is no choice in giving and surrendering. Giving and surrendering in weakness is done because there is weakness. When we are strong we have a choice about giving and surrendering. Perfection in relationships comes when we understand love is an ingredient based upon strength not upon weakness. Perfection in relationships comes when we understand perfection is impossible. Perfection comes when we surrender our imperfections to Christ who transforms our imperfection into perfection. |
