A Daily Devotional About a perfect world… Ecclesiastes 7:20 There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins. (NIV) In this world there is
both darkness and light. In this world we have both sin and grace. Our world is
horribly imperfect. Defective cells in the human body can turn into the scourge
of cancer. Defective upbringing in the life of a child creates a life far short
of perfection. Every item ever made by a human hand is in some way defective or
imperfect. In a perfect world, there would be no death, no war, no trouble, no
sickness, no blotch or blemish of any kind anywhere. However, we are not totally
helpless and without resources in our world of imperfection. We are all children
of God, fallen, but redeemable. We are all held in the loving hand of God who
wants us to see our imperfections. After we see our imperfections God wants us
to then try to do something about our blemishes. God does not measure our life
according to our doing great things. What God wants most from us is our
willingness and effort to overcome our imperfections. In the grandest scale,
Christ died on the Cross to give us a chance to deal with our most imperfect and
sinful heart. When we look to Christ and surrender our all to Him in humble
contrition, we begin to achieve perfection in the eyes of God. |
