A Daily Devotional About poverty and wealth of the spirit… Habakkuk 9:9 "Woe to him who builds his realm by unjust gain to set his nest on high, to escape the clutches of ruin! 10 You have plotted the ruin of many peoples, shaming your own house and forfeiting your life. Money and the absence of money is the great destroyer of lives. Terribly, for those who live in abject poverty, there is great woe in their life. Poverty makes a tragic mark upon the heart. For those who live in poverty, who love only God, who seek to serve only Him each day, there is wealth in life money cannot buy. For the impoverished souls who love money, there is no joy in life. For the impoverished souls who kneel down at the alter of the world's riches, there is no peace, no contentment, no love, and no happiness. For the impoverished person who holds the love of God deep in the heart, there is a peace passing all understanding. For the person holding the love of God within, there is contentment in every circumstance, a love unbounded by daily afflictions, and a resounding happiness evading the wealthiest persons on earth. |
