A Daily Devotional About pushing God… Mark 3:33 "Who are my mother and my
brothers?" he asked. 34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around
him and said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God's
will is my brother and sister and mother." (NIV) We all want our way. We all want what we want, the way we want it, when we want it. To get what we want, we sometimes think we can get God to give us what we want. We often wrap what we want up in the cover of a prayer. Too often we inwardly hope by wrapping what we want up in the cover of a prayer, God will deliver. Instead of living under God's grace in humility, we too often try to push God to do what we want when we want it. However, God cannot be pushed. God cannot be fooled. God cannot be convinced to give us what we want when God does not share our want for our life. Ten thousand people can stand in agreement what we want is God's will. However, no matter how many people agree with us, when what we want and need from God is ungodly or not within God's will, God cannot be pushed to do what we want done. We must all realize God can be called upon to answer our prayers, pleas, and petitions only in His will, not in our will. |
