"Am I only a God nearby," declares the Lord, "and not a God far away? † Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?" declares the Lord. "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the Lord. † "But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built! † For this is what the high and lofty One says-- he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. † Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? † If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. † When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it." † The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." † For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." † and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." †
