A Daily Devotional About waiting patiently for God's hand of deliverance… Psalm 40:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. All of us need deliverance provided by God. Christ came into the world as a deliverer to rescue us from our dark pit of sinfulness, pain, and suffering. However, when we need deliverance, we are not as patient as we should be. In our trials, we normally pray for God to do what we want when we want. When we have urgent needs we can sometimes think God does not hear us. We can believe He does not deliver our request when we want our request delivered. Of course, Satan can make things nearly impossible for us in life so we will give up hope and give up our faith in God. However, we must not give up hope. Christ is for us and not against us. Christ is our deliverer. We must be patient, for in the end, all of our prayers will be answered either upon the face of the earth or in the glory of heaven above. Our prayers will be answered according to God's will and according to His love. In the end, God will deliver us to a bright and shining new land full of glory divine. He will plant our feet on a land where we will never fall down, and where we will never have a need for deliverance again. We will have been delivered once and for all. What a glorious God and deliverer we serve! What a great future we have in Christ Jesus! |
