A Daily Devotional About
where we spend our days… Psalm 84:10 Better is one day in your
courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of
my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. (NIV) What a wonderful, humble, and sincere statement we find about being a doorkeeper for God. This statement of love and humility before God puts all things in perspective. The things of this world are only temporary and will pass away. However, the things of God are permanent, fixed, and a stronghold in the chaos and trouble of our material life. When we humble ourselves before the Lord, He is near to us and we suddenly come to be near Him. When we are willing to be His lowest servants, we are lifted up. Our
days are better spent opening the doors of God’s house than to
open our heart to evil and darkness. Our
days are better spent opening our heart to God than to open our
heart up to worldly and sinful persons, things, or ideas. We are better off spending our days opening the doors of our heart to the Lord’s presence than to stand far off in doubt, skepticism, and disbelief. |
