A Daily Devotional About why we do the will of God… Romans 5:6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (NIV) We do the will of God because He died for us. He died for us because He loved us. He died for us to set us free from our terrible burden of sin, free from our mistake-laden life, and free from our guilt. He died for us not knowing if we would ever care one iota about Him or if we would even think about Him. We do the will of God because His word is the truth He spoke when He walked among us and healed our many diseases and afflictions. We do the word of God because all the words He spoke were spoken to us in the deepest love and respect for our persons and for our humanity. We do the word of God because He came to earth to reach out to us and touch our heart so we would be His obedient children. We do the word of God because no matter how wayward we might become, He would always forgive us and He would always call us to come home to live with Him for eternity. |
