A Daily Devotional
About a welcome heart:
Galatians 4:13 As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you. 14 Even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself. (NIV)
When you welcome people into your heart and life, leaving no one out in the cold, you bring out the Lord's angels. When you welcome someone just as you would welcome Christ, you bring out Christ's love in your life. You also bring out Christ's love in the life of the person you welcome. Most of us can do a better job of opening our heart and life to others. We must remember we are the instrument God can use to touch others. When we show others how much we love them, then others see God alive in us. If no one showed love, love would not be seen, known, or recognized. People who loved one another through Christ helped build upon the foundation of the church put in place by Christ. The growth of the church in today's fallen world depends upon how much people inside the church love one another through Christ. The growth of the church depends upon how much of Christ's love is shared with those outside the church walls.
