About accepting the truth:

Psalm 15: 2 He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart 3 and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, 4 who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, 5 who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken. (NIV)

We do not have a lot of power. There are people in the world who think they have power. There are people who control vast amounts of wealth. There are people who control vast industries and who control the financial destinies of millions of people. Yet, all the people who have ever had power of any kind have died. Every person who ever walked the earth, whether powerful or not, has died. Even Jesus, who was God made into man, died. We might lust for power, wealth, fame, or fortune but we must come to grips with the truth. We must accept the truth we truly have little power. When we accept we have little power, we are then free from the lust for power. When we accept we can never truly have power over physical death then our lust for power is replaced by humility. The lust for power has corrupted souls and destroyed the lives of millions, yet the humble spirit glorifying Christ spreads out over the earth to uplift millions. In Christ your humble spirit has infinite power as you live for eternity.
