A Daily Devotional

About being in the stillness:

Exodus 14:13 Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." (NIV)

We are pushed about by life. We are pushed about by worries regarding our health, worries about our daily life, and worries about others we love, just to name a few. We are pushed about by a myriad of noisy influences in every part of our existence. However, we all have a stillness in us. We have the stillness of God in us amidst the noise, confusion, pain, worries, and heartache of life. The will of God for each of us is to meet with Him every day in a time of stillness. God's will for us is to hear His voice and be immersed in the stillness of His love. When we meet God in the stillness of His love we are transformed and renewed. When we bow down before Christ on the cross, our conviction brings upon us His stillness within our heart. In our world of distractions and noise, we have a quiet God who will speak to us directly in His stillness just like we speak to Him. Our dark moments, when we want to speak but we do not know what to say, are moments when He can bring His light into our life. If we let Him, God can use our dark moments of painful stillness because in those moments Christ can come into our life and show us He is our light in our darkness.
