A Daily Devotional
This Devotional Is Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply.
About being occupied with continually finding fault with yourself for everything
Luke 6:42 How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. (NIV)
We are not to find fault with others. We are also not to continually find fault with ourselves. To destroy ourselves by finding fault with ourselves does not bless God. Certainly, no one is perfect. Each of us has sinned and fallen short of God's glory. We are to be honest about our sin before God. However, to be continually occupied with finding our personal faults is destructive. Being continually occupied with finding our personal faults is not where we should be. Being continually occupied with finding our personal potential is where we should be. Expressing our personal potential is where we should be. When we find we have sinned, we are to confess our sin, do all we can to never repeat the mistake, and keep going forward. However, to be continually looking in the mirror for every little speck in ourselves is as wrong as when we go to pick the speck out of the eye of anotherwith the log firmly implanted in our own eye. The reality is you are a child of God. Christ died to set you free. To continually find fault with yourself diminishes His best in you and His brightness beaming from you. Christ died for you because in Him you have the power, potential, beauty, and ability to be one of God's best and brightest.
