About Dealing With Persecution…

2 Timothy 3:12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

The persecutions of our current era are not the same as the persecutions endured by the first believers in the first few centuries of our church history. The persecutions of our age, delivered by the great deceiver, can be subtle and practically unnoticed. We are besieged with advertising, images, and messages in our media destroying our families. As our families are destroyed our society will also rot and decay. In addition, deceptive political agendas are uprooting the moral foundations of society. Our times of recent prosperity in the industrialized world have placed most people on a long, easy, slow descent into complacency about God. Many people today believe faith in God is no longer relevant to their life. Depravity and contempt for God spiral upward as people lose an active faith. If you have a passion to live a godly life, reject the advertising, images, and messages promoting power, greed, lust, and material things. To reject these messages you will pay a price. However, the price you pay in persecution today will not begin to come close to the payoff of eternal life in Heaven.
