About being rescued
2 Peter 2:7 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives
of lawless men 8(for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in
his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)-- 9if this is so, then the Lord
knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of
judgment, while continuing their punishment. (NIV)
You will be rescued. However, your being rescued is dependent upon how faithful you are, how righteous you are, and how truly distressed you are by the lawlessness in your world. Looking the other way at sin, corruption, and lawlessness is easy. Saying the fallen nature of the world you live in is not your problem is also easy. However, when your heart is tuned to hear the voice of God and you resist temptation as you live a godly and devout life in Christ, you will be rescued. In Christ's love, you are made secure for an eternity. Your rescue from this ungodly world may not occur until you get to leave your physical body. However, even if you have to wait to leave, then the glory you experience in Heaven will erase every hurt and fill you with every joy.
