About believing good things will never happen

Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. (KJV)

It is bad enough we must deal with bad things happening. What makes our life even worse is when we "believe" good things will never happen. Even in the deepest darkness, some people see past the darkness. Even in the worst of times, some people find the best in the worst. The people who find the best even in the worst are true survivors in the world. If we believe strongly enough good things will never happen, then sure enough, good things never happen. Believing good things will never happen sets us up for living out a self-fulfilling prophecy of bad things continually happening. Using this negative mindset, we make little predictions in our mind and when we believe good things will never happen, or bad things will always happen, we make what we predict actually come true. The tragedy of the cross is an event in the history of our soul which can consume us. What we must remember is, there was for Christ, and is for us, a resurrection.
