A Daily Devotional
About building others:
Luke 9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? (KJV)
Our natural instinct is to take care of ourselves first. Our natural inclination is to put ourselves first. However, if we look at how the world really works, we will find those persons who build others achieve more for themselves. Selfishness implodes in on us. When we only think of ourselves and commit our life and energy to ourselves we do not surround ourselves with persons who can or will carry us when we need to be carried. When we build others before ourselves, we commit our life to helping others achieve their goals and dreams. In the view of the world, you can achieve your goals and dreams without worrying about others. However, in God's world, when you put others first by building others, they will, in turn build you. No successful church was ever formed when persons only thought of themselves. When persons commit to building others, supernatural forces begin to work themselves out and the building effort multiplies geometrically in favor of the builder.
