About our being called to patience:

Ecclesiastes 8:6 For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man's misery weighs heavily upon him. (NIV)

Every person who walks the earth stands in the light of God's love and mercy. Sometimes God's love is hard to find in each person because sin closes off the heart from His light. With a closed heart, the darkness prevails inside the heart. When we have closed off our heart, we run out of patience. Conversely, when the light of Christ's love beams into the openness of our heart, patience emerges as one of His blessings upon our life.

When your heart is closed off from God, the ways of the world assault you and cause you to be impatient, angry, and frustrated. The blessing of patience gives you the ability to work, plan, play, and act as an incredibly effective child of God. With the golden glow of His love in you heart, you are patient while you can wait upon His reappearing upon the earth once more.
