About God's love during times of worry at Christmas

Luke 12:24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? (NIV)

This year and in the years to follow, people around the world will carry burdens of enormous worry at Christmastime. Christ came to us so His love will overpower our worries. This does not mean our trials and troubles go away. Christ came so His love overwhelms our worry. God's love makes love visible in Christ's manger, the same love the darkness of our worry tries to smother out. God's love drills down to find Christ's living water, when our worry contemplates the consequences of our dying of thirst. God's love activates, while our worry tries to inactivate. God's love brings the warm glow of Christmas thawing out, what our worry freezes up. Christ's gift of love at Christmas heals us, while our worry tries to wound us. In the baby Jesus' little hands we have no worries, because in the Master's hands our worries are replaced by His calm assurance and His overflowing love.
