A Christmas Daily Devotional

The wonderment of Christmas and the Christmas season does not always match reality. Christmas does not always match what we want Christmas to be. Christmas and the Christmas season can make our troubles and worries seem even more serious.  We get the message we are to be full of joy, when in our reality, we are full of dark thoughts. Christmas can be a time of intense feelings of loneliness and feelings of isolation. Christ did not come into the world to give us a holiday in December. Christ came into the world to give us a way to spend eternity with Him in heaven. If your Christmas is not the best or even worse, what do you do? First, you need to pray to Jesus. Talking to Christ about your painful reality, the reality haunting so many people, your prayer time can relieve you of trying to live a lie..the lie being Christmas is a wonderful time for you when your Christmas is truly dreadful. You might wish to spend time in deep meditation, meditating on what Mary and Joseph might have experienced on that first Christmas. Next, try to make Christmas better for someone else. Giving can be a welcome salve for a hurting heart.
