A Christmas Daily Devotional

About why we celebrate:

The Story Of Our Lord's Birth

All the planning, activities, decorating, giving of gifts, special music, and special times of worship make the Christmas season a special time for many people. Many of our current customs, especially in Western countries, are new compared to the previous two thousand years of our Christian history. Too many times, in the crush of our activities and busy life, we lose sight of why we celebrate Christmas. We should not celebrate Christmas to get gifts and have parties. We should celebrate Christmas because Christ gave us eternal life given in His love. Even those who have over-active imaginations could not imagine enough about how wonderful our eternal life to come will be. Our current customs related to Christmas must be used as reminders of Christ and Him only. When we give or receive a gift we must keep Christ's gift of salvation in the forefront of our mind. All we say and do at Christmastime, or any other time of the year, must be for Christ.
