About Christ's gift of confidence:

2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. (NIV)

With all the attention given to gift-giving, especially in the advertising of the media, no gift has ever been given to any of us greater than Christ. What is most striking is what Christ gives us on a daily basis. One of His great gifts to us is confidence. In all our failures, mistakes, and sins, our confidence can erode away. Because Christ has given us confidence, we are confident we are never alone in the world. We are confident Christ is with us at all times. With His confidence, we know without any doubt, we have His spiritual armor to protect us. With confidence, we have a calm mind so we can listen to God's small voice ringing in our heart. With Christ's gift of confidence, because we are more secure, our mind can be more open to the Lord's dynamic truth. Because we live with confidence, our fear and insecurities melt away. Living with His confidence, we are strong enough to be able to accept we have false ideas. We then can accept our false ideas are nothing but folly in Christ's eyes.
